St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) herbal tea is hand-harvested once a year when the flowers are in bloom and is certified organic. Only the the flowers are used (not the stems) as that is where the medicinal value lies.
St. John’s wort tea is indicated in helping with depression, anxiety, fatigue, low mood and nervous exhaustion.
One pinch of the flowers per cup and to be boiled once to three times a day.

Please note there are some contraindications with taking this tea. Clinical data does not support it’s use in acute severe depressive disorder or severe major depression. It should not be used by HIV-antibody positive individuals treated with protease-1 inhibitors. Hyperforin induces the CYP450 enzyme system (which means the drug clears from the liver faster) so should not be used with indianvir, cyclosporin, oral contraceptives, digoxin, theophylline, methadone, antineoplatic drugs, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, tacrolims, omeprazole, midazolam, alprazolam and carbazeine.
