Being on our beautiful farm, we are so in awe of all the wondrous plants, how they grow, what they produce and seeing the cycle of change with every season. Nature has already done most of the work.

We take a minimalist approach when making our products- simple is infinitely better. We won’t compromise on quality and what you see is what you get- there are no hidden ingredients and no harmful practices that could harm the environment or ourselves. All our products are made using traditional methods with scientific innovation.

Our farm is certified organic and we adhere to sustainable farming practices using no chemical processing and resulting in almost zero waste. The plants are hand-harvested with no damage to the plants. Almost all parts of the plants are used to produce unique, innovative and eco-conscious products. Packaging is minimal and recyclable and all ingredients are 100% cruelty-free.

We are NASAA certified organic as we respect our earth, ensuring its healthy future. As an extension to this, it is important to show our world to you and as such we have regular farm tours where you are able to see and understand up close what it is that we do. For those who have not been to the farm but share the passion for our products, we are at several farmers markets every week around Victoria and it is a real pleasure for us to connect with our customers on a personal level.

The main plant we grow on the farm is the prickly pear cactus and we are often told that it is “good you are doing something with a pest plant”. To this we say, yes every plant has it’s importance but the species of prickly pear that we grow is the Opuntia ficus indica, which is NOT listed as a pest. More on this can be read here.

Each botanical ingredient used in our products is obtained from our certified organic farm. It is minimally processed ensuring unparalleled quality and maximum effectiveness. Only the first cold-pressed raw oils are used to keep the bioactive ingredients potent and as close to the original, as nature intended.

It is these differences that ensure our products deliver on their promise of giving you your best version- inside and out.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Every year in May, we hand-harvest our olives where they are then immediately cold pressed and stored in site. We only use extra virgin olive oil in all our products. This premium oil retains the maximum amount of nutrients delivering outstanding results for the skin.

PRICKLY PEAR SEED OIL

Towards the end of harvest season in March, we hand pick our ripe prickly pear fruits and separate the seeds from the pulp. The seeds are washed, laid out flat and air-dried before being cold pressed to extract the precious oil. The seeds contain only 5% oil, so it takes an incredible 1 kilo of seed to produce just one 30ml bottle.

PRICKLY PEAR FLOWER

At the start of summer, buds appear on the cactus pads and they will continue to grow and ripen into the fruits. Before the fruit is fully grown, it produces flowers which burst open to a brilliant yellow, before closing up and drying. These dry flowers are hand-picked and used as a tea and in a large range of our skin-care.

ACTIVATED CHARCOAL

What makes our charcoal unique is that we source it from our own olive branches. After harvesting at the end of winter, the branches are burnt and shortly after the cooled charcoal is collected.

PRICKLY PEAR GEL

The mature pads of the prickly pear are full of hydrating, wound-healing and cell renewing gel. These pads are harvested as needed and the freshly extracted gel is added at the time the product is made.

Chiron Organic is founded on using ingredients that are grown and harvested on the farm. As a company, it is built on the premise that ingredients must be local, clean, traceable and sustainable. There have been many products to enter the market using the prickly pear. However, these are not from Australia and when the product is used, it is in such small amounts. It is also obvious the company does not really understand why they are using those specific ingredients. We are one of the very few companies worldwide that produce, skincare, home cleaning, whole food supplements and gourmet delicacies originating from our farm.

Chiron literally means “hand” and pays tribute to the Ancient Greek centaur, Chiron, who was a great healer and teacher to many heroes such as Asclepius, Achilles, Jason and Hercules.

When the immortal Chiron was accidentally shot with a poison arrow from Hercules, he was in agony but could not die. Chiron exchanged his life for that of Prometheus whom Zeus had imprisoned for giving the gift of fire to man.

Chiron embodied the spirit of compassion and selfless service that is imperative in medicine and healing.
